CAS Legal Tech HWZ is an education program offered by the HWZ Hochschule für Wirtschaft Zürich – one of Switzerland's leading practice-oriented business schools, located in the heart of Zurich. The program addresses how generative and agentic AI, LegalTech platforms, and broader societal change are driving innovation in the legal market and transforming the way legal services are delivered and consumed.
Spanning 16 course days, the CAS takes a holistic and hands-on approach, with a particular focus on the use of artificial intelligence in the legal profession. The curriculum covers topics ranging from large language models and legal chatbots to blockchain and smart contracts, online dispute resolution, digital ethics, data protection, AI regulation, and Legal Design Thinking. Workshops in areas such as digital legal marketing, communication, and agile project management complement the program's technological core.
The CAS is aimed at legal professionals – whether at law firms, courts, public authorities, or in-house legal departments – who are interested in innovation and the forces shaping the digital transformation of the legal sector.
No prior technical knowledge is required; what counts is curiosity and openness. The programme is run in partnership with the Swiss LegalTech Association (SLTA) and awards 15 ECTS credits. It can also be credited towards the MAS Digital Business HWZ.
